Italian was introduced as an additional language option in the Sixth Form as part of our Specialist Language College status. Student numbers are strong and enthusiasm for the subject is high. We have a successful exchange link with the Liceo Canova in Treviso near Venice and all those who study Italian have the opportunity to take part in the exchange each year. Current Yr 13 students are studying for a GCSE qualification which will be taken in summer 2010. The Yr 12 group is now learning Italian as an Ab Initio language option within the IB programme. The course can be followed by both IB and A level students.
